You're in a panic! - Your much loved pet has been in an accident and requires immediate surgery. You don't care what it costs.... or do you?

While Medicare ensures people don't have to pay for treatment...there's no similar safety net for pets...highlighted in a recent news report of a Victorian pet owner who was outraged when asked to provide an up-front payment of $2,000 before emergency vets would treat her dog.

Are vets really so heartless? For some answers we turned to Emergency Clinician Dr Ingrid Goodman from the Animal Referral Hospital in Sydney who has to deal with this almost every day.
